Description
Map of vegetation conditions based on the VHI (Vegetation Health Index) derived from satellite data (AVHRR, VIIRS, Landsat 4,5,7-9, and Sentinel-2) at different spatial resolutions summarized at an aggregated resolution of ten meters. The VHI consists of two components: one part (VCI - Vegetation Condition Index) reflects the local biophysical characteristics of vegetation, and the other part (TCI - Thermal Condition Index) characterizes climatic conditions (temperature). Both parts represent the current situation relative to a reference period. The VHI is combined for assessing drought - the lower the value, the stronger the drought and its impact on vegetation. The dataset was developed in collaboration with MeteoSwiss for the Federal Drought Portal. The data processing is still in the commission phase (set-up and validation) until the first quarter of 2025, so the data may be subject to change during this period. Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data.
